Building strong relationships with our patients helps me gain their trust and allows me to be proactive in their dental care needs. It also gives me great satisfaction to get to know each patient on a personal level, and I look forward to our conversations. I graduated from Missouri Southern in 2000 with my associate’s degree in dental hygiene. I’ve been working at Accent Dental since 1996, starting as an assistant while I was in hygiene school. My days are spent working one on one with our patients, performing dental cleanings and educating each person about oral health. I focus on helping people understand the best home oral hygiene practices, how to develop good habits, and how to make healthy nutritional decisions. It’s a great feeling when a patient makes changes in their life and comes for a recall visit with a healthy mouth!
I’m a native of Pittsburg, KS. My husband, Derek, and I enjoy watching and supporting our boys, Peyton and Jaxon, in all of their busy activities. We love going to the lake in summer and working in the yard.
LeAnn HaleRegistered Dental Hygienist
I grew up in dentistry. My father is a retired dentist, one of my brothers took over Dad’s practice, so it’s in my blood. I’ve always loved getting to meet so many new people over the years and developing friendships with them. I graduated from Wichita State University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. I’ve been a part of the Accent Dental team since 1997, and enjoy seeing smiling, familiar faces and meeting those new to our practice, too. Working as a hygienist means building rapport with each person and learning about their oral health needs and concerns; then working with them to find the solution that is right for them, whether it’s a change in habits or a new home oral hygiene product. I know if they have a healthy mouth, their overall body health will also improve.
I’m originally from Coffeyville, KS, and have lived in Columbus over 25 years. I have two children, Lauren and Scott, and one spoiled miniature schnauzer, Crosby. Away from the office, I enjoy gardening, decorating, and lake trips.
Nicole GarrettRegistered Dental Hygienist
I graduated from the Missouri Southern State University with my associate’s degree in 2005 and my bachelor's degree in 2007 for dental hygiene. Currently I am working on my masters in public health administration. I first wanted to be a dental hygienist at the age of 6. I have been a hygienist now for 14 years and worked in dentistry for 19 years. My professional Affiliations are Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association, and Kansas Dental Hygienists' Association. I love getting to work with different people every day, and developing relationships with each person. When an individual comes back for their recall appointments, I am able to catch up on what’s been happening with their lives and their family, and we become friends. Being a hygienist means each day brings with it new conversations and new people, and I like that. My concentration is on helping a patient understand the connection between dental health and systemic health, through education. I ask about their lifestyle and habits, then work with them to identify problems areas and solutions to correct the issues, so they’ll have a healthy mouth and body, and a beautiful smile.
Im a native to Moundville, MO. I have a daughter, Ava and son Trace. As a family we enjoy fishing, crafts, sports, and soaking up the sun.
